Laurel Design Co. strives to work with as many other small businesses locally as possible, but some materials are sourced out of state. Most of our clientele is local to the Laurel/Hattiesburg area, however, currently one client is living in Arizona until she relocates to her new home in Laurel. This particular client has never met Sarah or Tim, the contractor on the project. Which at times poses a challenge and constant communication is key. Depending on the client, the projects at Laurel Design Co. vary culturally. For instance, the Arizona client is looking to bridge her design style that she knows from living out west with the style that is so common here in the south. Many challenges, such as climate differences, lifestyle differences, and geographical culture differences, have made this particular project very interesting!
Laurel Design Co.’s mission is to make good design tangible for everyone. Sarah believes that a person’s general well-being is largely influenced by the spaces where he/she lives & works. That said, she loves helping clients of all kinds. So far, she has helped budget-conscience clients work with what they have to make their space better. One client set a budget of $1500 and with that we were able to provide new rugs, a few ready-made drapery panels, small accent furniture, and accessories that helped tie a bow on the client’s living space. However, in contrast, she has recently completed a teenager’s bedroom that costed on the upper end of $15k which included all new furniture, custom headboard, rug, custom drapery & upholstery, and all new accessories. Laurel Design Co. is proud to say that no matter the situation, there is a way to be of service to everyone.
