Selections For Daysss

Week one was about getting familiar with the clients Sarah has, moving on to week two we are making selections for clients. One of them is doing a total house remodel, this client is moving back to Laurel after living in Arizona. Her style is traditional and wants a yellow and red toned color scheme. This home is still under construction and we are narrowing down the final selections right now. Claire and I went to look at granite and quartz and got some samples to show Sarah and send to the client. We also went to a flooring place to get some tile samples for the kitchen and bathrooms, the existing hardwood is just going to be re-stained and finished because it is in good condition. Picking out paint colors can be challenging because of the different hues and tones colors can have. We chose some creams and Sarah pointed out to us that some of the colors we had a pink hue to them and some had a more more blue-gray hue. You definitely have to train your eye to see the differences but once they are pointed out you can't unsee them.

I brushed up on my AutoCAD skills by helping Sarah space plan for a client who is building a new clinic in Laurel. My ADA code knowledge came in handy with this. I also drew out a floor plan for another client who is just renovating her home by adding in new furniture and decor. I am still learning how to be efficient in AutoCAD and learning tricks that I never knew before.

One ongoing project we are helping out with is the fourth annual Cotton Gin Market at Raspberry Green in Soso, MS. The event is in October but we are documenting the vendors as they apply. The market hosts a variety of vendors from handmade, local goods to vintage and antique goods and delicious southern food vendors. I am looking forward to going this fall.
